The “Almost There” Guide
Happy couples- You’ve reached the middle of wedding planning. Your venue is secured, your core vendors locked in, the dream dress ordered…but a lull has set in, now what?
Welcome to the sweet spot in engagement season! This is the perfect time to catch your breath, catch up on budgeting, and take care of the thoughtful details that will make your final planning phase smoother, more enjoyable, and less stressful.
Here are some ways to make the most of the "in-between":
Touch Base with Your Bridal Party
Make sure everyone has ordered their attire and accessories, especially if items are custom or need tailoring. It’s also a great time to communicate your expectations for the wedding weekend such as arrival times, rehearsal details, or any pre/post-wedding events you’d like them involved in.
Revisit and Refresh Your Wedding Website
When guests receive their invitation, your wedding website becomes their go-to resource. Now’s the time to make sure hotel blocks, transportation info, dress code, and local recommendations are all updated. Think of it as your digital concierge.
Revisit Your Registry
If you’ve already had showers or engagement parties, give your registry a little love. Update or add any items you may have missed, making sure you have a variety of price points. This is especially helpful for guests who will be buying gifts closer to your wedding day.
Create a Purchasables List & Organize the Wedding Zone
Start a list (digital or old-school) of any remaining items you’ll need to buy or DIY. Think signage, day-of paper goods, bar accessories, or decor elements. Designate a wedding corner, closet, or room in your home and sort items by category: ceremony, reception, tables, etc. Your future self will thank you when it's time to pack and deliver.
Start Planning Wedding Day Gifts
Whether you’re exchanging gifts or personal vows with your partner, giving gifts to your wedding party, or planning a sweet surprise for your parents, this is a lovely time to start gathering those items. Personal touches go a long way and don’t feel as rushed when you plan ahead.
Schedule Your Self-Care Moments
Book that hair and makeup trial, get a facial or a mani-pedi, and give yourself permission to relax and enjoy the season. These are the little moments that help you soak in just being a fiance and being engaged.
Book Your Honeymoon Details
Confirm your flights, accommodations, transportation, and activities, especially if you're traveling right after the wedding. Don’t forget to order or renew your passport if you’re heading out of the country!
This season of engagement is just as special as the wedding itself. You’re not just planning a little party, you’re preparing for a marriage. Take time to be present, enjoy time with your fiancé, go on date nights, and savor this once-in-a-lifetime chapter.
